Frequently Asked Questions about Infrared Sauna Therapy

1. What is an infrared sauna?

An infrared sauna uses infrared light energy to warm the body directly rather than relying primarily on heated air like a traditional sauna. This creates a comfortable warming experience at lower air temperatures.

2. What makes the Sunlighten mPulse different from a traditional sauna?

The Sunlighten mPulse features near, mid, and far infrared wavelengths, allowing for a customized sauna experience. Unlike traditional saunas that primarily heat the surrounding air, infrared technology delivers radiant heat directly to the body.

3. What are the benefits of infrared sauna therapy?

Infrared sauna sessions may support relaxation, temporary relief of minor muscle and joint discomfort, post-exercise recovery, and an overall sense of well-being. Many people also enjoy sauna therapy as part of their regular self-care routine.

4. What is the difference between near, mid, and far infrared?

Each infrared wavelength interacts with the body differently. Near infrared is commonly associated with light-based wellness applications, mid infrared with deeper radiant heating, and far infrared with warming the body's surface and supporting a comfortable sweating experience. The Sunlighten mPulse combines these wavelengths for a versatile sauna experience.

5. How long should an infrared sauna session last?

Session length depends on your experience, comfort level, and health considerations. Many people begin with shorter sessions of 10–15 minutes and gradually increase as tolerated. Follow the recommended settings for your specific session and stay hydrated.

6. How often can I use an infrared sauna?

Frequency depends on your wellness goals, tolerance, and overall health. Some people incorporate infrared sauna sessions several times per week, while others use them occasionally for relaxation and recovery. Our team can help you determine an appropriate starting routine.

7. Does an infrared sauna help with weight loss?

Sweating can cause temporary water-weight loss, but this is not the same as losing body fat. Infrared sauna therapy is best viewed as a complement to a balanced nutrition plan, physical activity, and a comprehensive wellness routine rather than a standalone weight-loss treatment.

8. Do I need to prepare before my infrared sauna appointment?

Arrive well hydrated, avoid alcohol before your session, and wear comfortable clothing appropriate for the treatment. Let our team know about any medical conditions, medications, or concerns before beginning your session.

9. Is infrared sauna therapy safe for everyone?

Infrared sauna therapy is not appropriate for everyone. Individuals who are pregnant, have certain cardiovascular conditions, experience heat intolerance, or take medications that affect hydration or temperature regulation should consult their healthcare provider before use. Stop your session if you experience dizziness, nausea, or discomfort.
